With a week to go before LG formally unveils the LG G3, LG UK has already confirmed that one variant, the LG-D855, is headed to Europe. With a global launch expected, we know that other variants are being prepared. Among them are the LG-D850 for AT&T and LG-D851 for T-Mobile USA. Both have now passed through the FCC, revealing a few new details along the way.
The FCC documents that are currently public (the more interesting ones are still hidden behind confidentiality agreements) reveal that the LG-D850 will support LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7 and 17 while the LG-D851 will support LTE bands 2, 4, 7 and 17. The documents also confirm that both will have 802.11 b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and removeable batteries.
Both devices will measure 146.3 by 74.6 millimeters. This makes the LG G3 slightly larger than the LG G2 which comes in at 138.5 by 70.9 millimeters. While the size of the display is not mentioned, the larger size is but one more piece of evidence that the LG G3 will sport a larger 5.5-inch display running a WQHD (2560×1440) resolution.
We were not able to find two more expected LG G3 variants. The LG-LS990 for Sprint and the LG-VS985 for Verizon have yet to pop up on the FCC website.
LG will unveil the LG G3 at a series of six events taking place between May 27 and May 28 across the world. LG may also use the event to formally unveil the LG G Watch.
