LG is probably thinking that May 27 cannot come soon enough. It is expected to unveil its LG G3 flagship smartphone at the upcoming series of events but leaks and rumours continue to reveal details at a furious pace. We’ve already seen a number of images of the device but @evleaks has now given us two closer looks.
The first appears to show a brushed metal back cover. With @evleaks adding the comment “LG G3, fingerprint-magnet no more,” it appears that this may not simply be a plastic cover given a faux-metal finish. Confusing matters is the fact that past images have shown what appears to be more typical plastic covers. With LG rumoured to offer two variants, it could be that the metal finish is reserved for the model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.
The second image appears to show that the LG G3 will have a removable battery and use a micro-SIM card. If there is a removable battery, could a microSD slot be far behind? It is certainly a plausible theory although no other rumours have hinted at one so far.
LG is expected to unveil the LG G3 at a series of events on May 27 and 28. Three will take place on the 27th with three more to follow the next day. The Korean company could also use the events to formally unveil its LG G Watch powered by Android Wear.
