HTC is expected to make a new push into the mid-range smartphone market with the upcoming HTC Desire 8. Codenamed HTC A5, its specifications leaked earlier this week. They have now resurfaced courtesy of the usually reliable @evleaks. While they line up fairly well with the earlier ones, there are some differences as well. As per @evleaks, here is what we can expect:
- Processor: 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8928)
- Operating system: Google Android with HTC Sense 6.0
- Display: 5.5-inch HD (720×1280) SuperLCD2
- RAM: 1.5GB
- Internal storage: 8GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards
- Rear-facing camera: 13MP
- Front-facing camera: 5MP
- Colours: Black, White, Red, Yellow, Purple
- Other: BoomSound
The earlier details had a slightly slower MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 processor (the same as on the Moto G) as opposed to the MSM8928 here. This latest round of specifications also bumps the RAM up to 1.5GB.
With several regional variants in the works, it may be that the differences between them extend beyond antenna configurations.
The HTC Desire 8 could launch alongside the HTC M8 (The All New HTC One) at HTC’s March 25 event.
