Sony has announced a new version of its 6.4-inch Xperia Z Ultra phablet. Sporting only Wi-Fi connectivity, it effectively drops its phablet designation and moves squarely into tablet territory. While the Xperia Z Ultra may have been a tough sell as a smartphone because of its large size, it is likely to find a few more fans as a compact tablet.
Aside from losing its cellular data connection, the Wi-Fi model is effectively the same as the original version in terms of specifications. It will not be available in purple though.
