With Mobile World Congress behind us for another year, details continue to emerge about new devices we will see arrive in Canada over the next few weeks and months. Among them is Sony Mobile Communications which unveiled four devices at the event: Two smartphones, a new tablet and its SmartBand bracelet. While Sony announced global availability starting in March, Future Shop yesterday revealed that we can expect the SmartBand SWR10 to land in Canada in May.

There is no word on pricing and specific launch dates for the Sony SmartBand SWR 10 at this point.
Future Shop also reported that the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet would make its Canadian debut later this month. That tweet has now been pulled with Sony Canada explaining in a statement to Mobile Syrup that the information was incorrect:
“A Canadian retailer issued a tweet yesterday regarding the Canadian availability of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet. The information was incorrect and has been removed. There is no specific Canadian timing or availability information confirmed for the Xperia Z2 Tablet at this time. We will provide this information to fans when it is confirmed through social media channels on Facebook and Twitter as well as via news release. Sorry for the misunderstanding.”
It’s likely that we will also see the Sony Xperia Z2 and perhaps even the Xperia M2 in Canada but again, there are no specific details as to when that could happen.
