Do you feel that almost every Samsung Galaxy S5 rumour comes with a new model number? We’ve heard about the SM-G900A, SM-G900F, SM-G900S, SM-G900H and just today, a new variant, the SM-G900L. These may only be the tip of the proverbial iceberg: SamMobile has obtained a list that allegedly includes all the model numbers for the SM-G900.
The proliferation of variants could be an indication that Samsung is giving each its own model number. It could then use this information to apply a region lock policy. Introduced with the Galaxy Note 3, it could well be that the unpopular practice will rear its ugly ahead again on the Galaxy S5.
The full list obtained by SamMobile is available here:
- SM-G9006V_CHN_CHN (China)
- SM-G9008V_CHN_ZM (China)

- SM-G900T_NA_TMB (T-Mobile)
- SM-G900V_NA_VZW (Verizon)
- SM-G900W8_NA_BMC (BMC)
All the variants that have surfaced to date, including the SM-G900L that is headed to Korea’s LG U+, can be found on this list.
What is not so clear from the list is whether Samsung will offer both a standard and premium version of the Galaxy S5. Our guess is that this list covers only one variant.
If nothing else, the list does confirm that Samsung will once again offer its flagship smartphone pretty much in every corner of the world.
