Having spent the last few months learning more about the company whose leadership he assumed last December, Rogers Communications CEO Guy Laurence is starting to make changes to help the company move in the direction that he has set forth. Following the departure of two senior executives earlier this week, Laurence today announced to employees that Rob Bruce, President of Communications, will also be leaving the company “to seek his next leadership role.”
Unlike John Boynton, EVP Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer, and Shelagh Stoneham, SVP and General Manager, Brands and Marcomm, who have already left, Bruce will stay on until the end of the year. His role going forward wil be to ensure a seamless transition by continuing to manage the Consumer Business Unit and help with integration efforts.
The Globe and Mail adds that Melinda Rogers, daughter of the late CEO Ted Rogers, will also leave the senior management team. She will remain on the board of director and as founder of Rogers Ventures.
Laurence closes the email to employees with a promise to “provide you with more details this afternoon.” Whether that means that we can expect further executive departures remains to be seen.
We have reached out to Rogers for additional comment and will update this post with their response.
