Details continue to emerge about Samsung’s next flagship ahead of an expected announcement in mid-March. The usually reliable @evleaks‘ latest tweets confirm certain details and also reveal that Samsung will indeed go with Galaxy S5 as the name, “sticking with a winner, name-wise.” No big surprise on the name.

Two other tweets reveal the names of two preloaded app APKs, giving us a glimpse into some of the Galaxy S5 specifications. The first, “FingerprintService.apk,” effectively confirms that the Galaxy S5 will indeed come with a fingerprint scanner rather than the iris scanner that Samsung may have hoped to include. The latter, “3DTourViewer_WQHD_K.apk” is only the latest rumour to suggest that the Galaxy S5 will sport a display offering a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.
With rumours going back and forth on the Galaxy S5’s display resolution, it is increasingly likely that Samsung will indeed offer two different versions, one with a Full HD (1080×1920) display and another with a WQHD (2560×1440) resolution. It remains to be seen if both variants will sport the fingerprint scanner but current thought is that they both will.
