Samsung had been widely expected to launch two versions of its Samsung Galaxy S5 this week. But its Mobile World Congress Unpacked5 event only saw the introduction of a single model with a quad-core processor and Full HD display. There was no sign of a premium metal-clad version packing a WQHD (2560×1440) display. But the rumour mill is buzzing today that it is still coming.
According to Korea’s ETNews, the oft-rumoured Project F is alive and well and the premium Galaxy S5 will be the first device to launch under that initiative. Along with a metal finish, we can expect to see that rumoured octa-core processor (the Samsung Exynos 5422 perhaps) and WQHD display. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime as it may be called may also come with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).
The report is supported by leaksters @eldarmurtazin and @Ricciolo1 who also believe that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime is real and coming soon:
@eldarmurtazin What about the s5 prime will it still come? We didn't hear anything about it.

An announcement in April or May now appears to be in the cards. One rumour even suggests that Samsung is waiting for HTC to announce its All New HTC One before unveiling its next flagship smartphone in a bid to better HTC’s latest flagship smartphone.
Given the number of rumours about this premium variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 we have already seen, it is quite likely that it is a real device. What Samsung’s plans for the device are though remain strictly in the realm of rumour at this point.
