Virgin Mobile today announced that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the latest RE*Generation smartphone. Starting today, CA$15 from each Galaxy S5 sold through Virgin Mobile will go to the Virgin Mobile RE*Generation program. Donations will also be applied retroactively to all Galaxy S5 smartphones launched since April.
Launched in 2008, the program has so far raised over CA$1 million to support the lives of at-risk and homeless youth across Canada. It does so by creating new opportunities and experiences for at-risk and homeless youth across the country to help them emerge out of the cycle of homelessness.
“The Virgin Mobile RE*Generation phone program is a great way for our Members to support at-risk and homeless youth,” said Joseph Ottorino, managing director, Virgin Mobile Canada. “Samsung shares our passion for empowering a generation to help its own. We’re glad to be working together to give Virgin Mobile Members the opportunity to raise funds.”

Samsung has partnered with Virgin Mobile with other devices in the past. Among these have been the Samsung Galaxy Ace II x, Samsung Gravity 3, Samsung Link and Samsung M300.
If the Samsung Galaxy S5 is not your next phone, you can still help the program through the following:
- Change For A Dollar: Virgin Mobile gives its Members the opportunity to donate to Virgin Mobile RE*Generation monthly, by adding one dollar to their existing plan through the Change for a Dollar program.
- Text-to-donate: Canadians can at any time donate $5 to Virgin Mobile RE*Generation by texting REGEN to 30333.
