Samsung will unveil its latest flagship smartphone during MWC 2014 at its latest Unpacked event. While we have seen quite a few rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S5, images have been a different matter. We’ve featured a number of concepts but actual images have proven to be quite elusive. A new render may have just given us our first glimpse at this upcoming device. It comes from MovePlayer, a Korean website that has revealed other devices with such renders (such as the LG G Pad 8.3).
MovePlayer‘s render of the Samsung Galaxy S5 reveals a device that features a more angular look than its predecessors. It also appears thinner but roughly the same height with a narrower but still present physical home button. The bezels also appear thinner. The user interface hints at a flatter design, something that Samsung may have been teasing with a recent image.
There is no word on specifications but the report suggests a display in the 5.1 to 5.25-inch range and a device measuring 144 by 72 millimeters. In comparison, the Galaxy S4 measures 136.6 by 69.8 millimeters and comes with a slightly smaller 5-inch display.
The physical home button contradicts some recent rumours that suggested that Samsung finally got rid of it in favour of an embedded fingerprint scanner.
For whatever reason, SamMobile which posted a story about this render has now pulled it down. We’ll let you decide if this gives some legitimacy to the image or instead points to it being a fake. Chime in below with your opinion!
