Samsung is not quite done with its Galaxy S III line. There have been rumours in the past about a new model, the GT-i8200, which will be better known as the Galaxy S III Mini VE (for Value Edition). The name alone suggests a device with specifications lower than those of the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, itself already a fairly inexpensive device. We have now obtained a document that effectively confirms this and reveals a number of details about it.
Based on the document, we now know that the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini VE (for Value Edition) will have the following specifications
- Processor: 1.2GHz dual-core processor
- Operating system: Google Android (unspecified version)
- Cellular connectivity: HSPA+
- Other connectivity: GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0
- Display: 4.0-inch Super AMOLED
- Internal storage: 8GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards up to 32GB
- Rear-facing camera: 5MP
- Front-facing camera: VGA
- Dimensions: 121.5 × 63 × 9.85 millimeters
There is no word on when and where Samsung will launch the Galaxy S III Mini VE. The Bluetooth SIG gives us a hint though by revealing a number of variants including the GT-I8200, GT-i8200N and GT-I8200Q for Europe and the GT-i8200L for South America. These suggest it could have fairly wide distribution as another entry-level option in many carriers’ portfolio of devices.
Thanks, tipster!
