Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 4 at its next Unpacked event which will take place simultaneously in Beijing, Berlin and New York on September 3. While rumours have painted a fairly comprehensive picture of the device we can expect, Indonesian Internet retailer Erafone appears to have gone one further and posted detailed specifications of the phablet on a product page on its website.
Most of the details line up with what past rumours have suggested but there are a few differences as well. Here are the details Erafone provided before it pulled the details down:
- Processor: 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or octa-core Samsung Exynos 5433 (depending on market)
- Operating system: Google Android 4.4.3 KitKat
- Cellular connectivity: LTE/HSPA/GRPS/EDGE
- Other connectivity: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, DLNA
- Display: 5.7-inch WQHD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED
- RAM: 4GB
- Internal storage: 16GB/32GB/64GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards up to 128GB
- Rear-facing camera: 16MP AF with dual flash and optical image stabilization
- Ports: 3.5mm audio jack, micro-USB 3.0 port
The SM-910S will come with the Snapdragon 805 processor while the SM-910C will sport the Exynos one. The former is expected to be the North American model and the latter the international one.
As you can see, it appears that the Galaxy Note 4 will come with even more RAM than the 3GB initially expected. It also appears that Samsung has decided to go with a 16MP rear camera rather than a 12MP one as some rumours hinted at.
The Erafone product page made no mention of sensors but we expect the Galaxy Note 4 to come with the same array of sensors as the Galaxy Note 5 as well as add a UV sensor.
With less than three weeks to go, it will not be long before we know whether the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will indeed sport these kinds of specifications.
The site also listed the price of the Galaxy Note 4 at IDR9,499,000 (about CA$890). While it may sell for less in North America, you can still expect that this new flagship device will come with flagship pricing.
