One of the most rumoured and leaked devices in recent months, Samsung today finally made the Samsung Galaxy Alpha official. Despite a raft of rumours that predicted a premium variant of the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Alpha is not that device and details fall in line with those of more recent rumours. Sporting a metal frame and a plastic back cover, the Galaxy Alpha is billed as “the optimal convergence of style and cutting-edge technology.” At less than 7 millimeters thick, it is also Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy smartphone to date.
“The Galaxy Alpha was built and designed based on the specific desires of the consumer market,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics. “With an entirely new appearance, the Galaxy Alpha focuses on both beauty and functionality combining a stunning metal frame and slim, light weight design with the same powerful hardware and features users expect from a flagship Galaxy mobile device.”
