Rogers had promised that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the HTC One Mini would roll out in “Late February 2014.” With a day to spare, it has made good on its promise. The update is now rolling out.
Along with Android 4.4, the update also includes an upgrade to HTC Sense 5.5.
If you have yet to receive a notification about the update on your HTC One mini, you can trigger a manual check via Settings -> About phone -> System Updates -> Check now.
With this update, HTC has now delivered its HTC One Android 4.4 updates to all Canadian carriers. Up next is a similar update for the HTC Desire 601 which a number of Canadian carriers (Bell, Fido, Koodo, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and WIND Mobile) have offered. According to HTC’s own status, that update is at the ‘integration’ stage. Before it launches, it will also need to go through at least a carrier ‘Certification’ stage as well.
