The OnePlus One smartphone promises to be a flagship device that will put many other flagships to shame. The device, from startup OnePlus, will go on sale starting on April 23 in some 16 countries. Is Canada among them, you ask? We don’t know yet unfortunately. OnePlus is teasing the information out slowly, naming countries two at a time. Since it started yesterday, it has revealed that Austria, Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands have made the list where it will sell for less than €350 (about CA$530). All we can say for now is that Canada still has a chance!

With plans to sell in the OnePlus One in sixteen countries, OnePlus also shed some light on how it plans to manage an international shopping experience. It will start with a localized shopping experience with prices in local currency. Among the localized information provided will be a list of carriers with which the OnePlus One will be compatible. From a fulfillment perspective, the company will have multiple warehouses on every continent it will operate to ensure that orders are shipped from the warehouse closest to the customer. Customer service will be provided by a dedicated customer service team (along with the usual online knowledge base and forums). Warehouses will also act as service locations should repairs be necessary.
Rest assured that we’ll bring you more as soon as new details come to light.
