NVIDIA also announced a wireless controller designed for both Android and PC gaming. Very similar to the original SHIELD, it does away with the smaller screen but otherwise appears to be about the same size. Low latency is promised by its direct Wi-Fi connection. As yesterday’s leak revealed, it comes with dual analog joysticks, a d-pad, left and right analog triggers and bumpers, A, B, X and Y buttons, Android Home and Back buttons, a Start button, volume controls and a capacitive touchpad.
The NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet also comes with the same GameStream technology found on the original SHIELD to let you remotely play games on your PC when you’re home. It also comes with Twitch integrated to let you stream live gameplay to your friends or watch others play.
The NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet is now available for pre-order. The 16GB model sells for US$299/CA$329 and the 32GB LTE one for US$399/CA$429. The latter will launch later than the Wi-Fi model. The wireless controller will sell for an additional US$59/CA$65 and the tablet cover for US$39/CA$43.
