Nokia earlier today began to send out press invitations to an event set to take place at MWC 2014. There are a few theories about what Nokia could announce and the invitation itself reveals little except the tagline “Meet us under the tree.”
Only hours later, the usually reliable @evleaks followed up with a tweet that suggests that the Nokia Normandy will launch as the Nokia X. @evleaks has already provided more than a few details about this oft-rumoured device, an Android-powered entry-level smartphone likely aimed at emerging markets.
Project Normandy = Nokia X

Coincidence? Perhaps not. Could the Nokia X be Nokia’s last device announcement before it gets acquired by Microsoft?
With its heavily customized version of Android with an interface more reminiscent of Windows Phone, we think that Microsoft, which is about to acquire Nokia’s mobile phone business, should get behind the project. Maybe it has already given Nokia the go-ahead for the launch.
Too bad they could not pick a better name though. Not only did it already have an X family of devices but doesn’t Motorola uses a very similar name for one of its current devices?
