As rumours just days ago predicted, Nokia is headed to Microsoft’s Build 2014 conference and will hold an event called “more Lumia” there on April 2. Nokia today posted an invitation for the event on its Nokia Conversations blog. Following the launch of its Android-powered Nokia X line of entry-level smartphones, this event will focus on its Windows Phone Lumia smartphones.
What makes 2014 so special is the exciting Microsoft and Nokia partnership, and boy, have we got some treats lined up for you.
So when will you find out? Meet us here at Conversations on Wednesday April 2 where we’ll be revealing all.
There’ll be a lot to talk about…
The invitation reveals few details about what Lumia announcements Nokia has planned. Earlier rumours suggested that it would unveil two new smartphones: the budget-level Lumia 630 (codename Moneypenny) and the flagship Lumia 930 (codename Martini).
The “More Lumia” animated graphic shows a number of app icons in the “o” in “more.” This suggests that Nokia could also make a number of software announcements, likely updates to existing apps such as Nokia Camera and Here.
Microsoft is widely expected to announce Windows Phone 8.1 at Build 2014. That should open the door to new Windows Phone devices not only from Nokia but also from other manufacturers such as Samsung with the SM-W750V.
