Motorola and Verizon Wireless today launched the latest DROID smartphone, the DROID Turbo. It is in many ways a more powerful version of the Moto X (2014). Built around a 5.2-inch display, it bumps the resolution up to WQHD, throws in the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and more RAM and a 3,900mAh battery that could last as long as 48 hours according to Motorola. It also comes with Motorola software such as as Touchless Control, Quick Capture and Moto Display. DROID Zap also lets you share content with other DROID devices.

The Verizon DROID Turbo will go on sale on October 30. The 32GB model in Metallic Black, Metallic Red or Ballistic Nylon will be available for US$199 with a two-year contract. The 64GB model, available only in Ballistic Nylon will sell for US$249 with a two-year contract.
