Motorola is readying new variants of its Moto 360 smartwatch and Amazon spilled the beans a bit sooner than Motorola was hoping for. The online retailer earlier today briefly revealed both a gold Moto 360 and a new brown shade of leather armband. Both listings were quickly pulled down but live on for now thanks to cached content.
The gold Moto 360, or Champagne Gold as it will be officially known, will come with a matching steel band. In fact, there will be a choice of strap sizes: 23 millimeters or a smaller 18 millimeter one. The latter will presumably be aimed at women but it should be pointed out that the watch itself will not be any smaller. Both models will go on sale for US$299.99 if the currently listed prices prove to be accurate.
If your tastes run towards the leather bands, Motorola appears to be readying a new option called Cognac (sometimes also known as brown). It will sell for US$249.99.
There is no word on when Motorola will announce these new models but Amazon showed that both will ship “within 1 to 2 months.” Perhaps they will be announced in time for Christmas.
