Motorola could soon launch a ruggedized version of the Moto G. According to @evleaks‘s Spanish Twitter account, the Moto G Forte will launch in Latin America with “improved durability” according to the Google translation. If legitimate, the Moto G Forte could well be Motorola’s first ruggedized device since it was acquired first by Google in 2012 and more recently by Lenovo earlier this year.

Little is known about the Moto G Forte at this point but it will presumably be dust and waterproof. It is likely to retain the same specifications as the Moto G or come with minor upgrades at best.
An image of the device also suggests that the edges could sport a thicker possibly rubberized casing to better withstands drops and the other sundry bumps of daily life.
The Moto G Forte could make its debut in Latin America. There is no word exactly when it will launch. It also remains to be seen if Motorola will bring it to other markets and how much it will sell for although it will likely cost slightly more if sold next to the original Moto G.
