Do you remember the mysterious Moto G Forte spotted a few days back? Motorola has launched in Latin America and more particularly Mexico. With the launch, the mystery of what it was exactly has been solved. It turns out that the Moto G Forte is none other than the Moto G outfitted with a Motorola Grip Shell whose “rubber frame provides improved grip and impact protection.” As such, while it may be a bit more durable than the Moto G in a regular case, it is not dust and waterproof as we had expected.

It’s not clear why Motorola chose to launch a slightly different version of the Moto G in what appears to be only Mexico. It remains to be seen if we’ll see the Moto G in other countries later.
The Moto G Forte has already popped up on Nextel Mexico’s website with pricing starting at MX$0 with a Plan 600 Prip contract.
