Motorola briefly teases DROID Turbo on Twitter

Rumoured Verizon DROID Turbo

While Motorola and Verizon Wireless have yet to officially confirm that new DROID smartphones are coming soon, the official @DroidLanding Twitter (accidentally?) briefly teased the upcoming DROID Turbo earlier this week. The image came with no details not even the name but it’s clear that it’s the same device as the one revealed earlier by the leaked DROID Turbo user manual.

The user manual suggests that the DROID Turbo is an enhanced version of the Motorola Moto X. With Motorola behind the DROID Turbo, that’s not an unlikely scenario. As far as specifications go, it is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, a 5.2-inch “ultra high-definition display,”3GB of RAM, a 21MP rear camera, Qi wireless charging, support for Motorola’s Turbo Charger and a “high-capacity long lasting battery,” perhaps as high as 3,900mAh. Like last year’s DROID devices, it will run a near stock version of Google Android with a suite of Moto apps that includes Moto Voice, Moto Display and Moto Connect.

Rumoured Verizon DROID Turbo

There is no word yet on availability and pricing. For its part, Droid Life reports that it could launch on October 30. If past rumours are correct, it will be joined by a new DROID and DROID Maxx models when unveiled.
