Motorola has so far only confirmed that a successor to the Moto X is coming sometime this summer. Rumours about the name of said device first surfaced in early April when the usually reliable @evleaks revealed it as Moto X+1. That same name recently appeared briefly on Motorola’s Motomaker website. That same name has now popped up on Motorola’s website again. This time, a page reveals the Moto X+1 for AT&T. It was still up as we posted this but it’s unlikely to remain up much longer.
As you can see from the image, we even have a price, -US$400, this time, albeit a bit too low to be believed. Either that or Motorola really has delivered on the promise of “Priced for all.”
Droid-Life has also done some digging into Motorola’s sitemap, looking up the Motorola X+1’s codename. References to FLEXR2, its codename, appear to confirm that it will come with options for black, blue, grey, and red leather backplate options. A new wood pattern called Rosewood also appears. Other references suggest that the Moto X+1 will also be headed to Sprint and Verizon Wireless. T-Mobile USA, which did not carry the Moto X last year, does not appear to be listed in the file, suggesting that it may again skip Motorola’s flagship smartphone.
Motorola is holding its next event on May 13 where it is widely expected to unveil the inexpensive Moto E. These “slip-ups” on its own website suggest that it is also getting ready for its next flagship and could be even offer up a teaser at its upcoming event.
Update: And the page is down…
