Good news today for Canadian Moto G owners. Motorola has delivered on its Moto G upgrade promise in Canada. The Moto G Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade is now landing on Canadian devices. Both TELUS and Koodo devices are have begun to receive it according to a couple of tips we’re received.
The update will upgrade the Moto G to the latest version and brings with it all the latest features and updates such as a new Phone Dialer app and the new Hangout app that now supports SMS and MMS. Android 4.4 was also optimized for devices with less RAM so should play nicer with the Moto G than did Android 4.3. Battery optimization should also mean a longer battery life.
The 196.9MB download will update your Moto G software version to 173.44.en.CA.
If you have not received your notification yet, you can also check manually: Settings -> About phone -> System Updates -> Check now.
Thanks, John and W8lt!
