Following launch events in other parts of the world, Motorola Canada today also unveiled the Moto E along with the Moto G 4G LTE. The entry-level Moto E is aimed first at people still using a feature phone and for whom smartphones have remained unaffordable to date. Its price point will also make it a compelling option for anyone looking for an inexpensive smartphone.
More than 70% of handsets in use today are still feature phones. Motorola sees this market as a huge opportunity and the Moto E is the continuation of the work it started last year with the Moto X and the Moto G. As Odile Guinot, Motorola Vice President and General Manager, said today, “Mobile internet should be a right” and the Moto E is designed to promote this.
The Moto E adopts the same design aesthetic as the Moto X and Moto G but at an even lower price. According to Motorola, it features not only best in class display (4.3-inch QHD with 256 PPI) and better specifications than comparable devices.
