The Moto 360 is currently of the most anticipated smartwatches. Renders provided by Motorola show a device that combines the elegance of a traditional watch with the features and of a smartwatch. Expected to launch sometime this summer, Motorola has so far stayed mum about its price. Now comes word via UK online retailer MobileFun that the Moto 360 will sell for £199 (about CA$365) when it launches in the UK. It has also started pre-orders, suggesting a launch in the not-too-distant future.
There is often a disparity in pricing between North America and the UK with pricing in the former region coming in lower when it comes to various electronics. A lower price in North America appears to be on the cards as the online retailer’s U.S. website listed the price at US$279.49.
This pricing lines up fairly well with pricing revealed in the rules of a contest run last month by Motorola itself. Despite Motorola denying that this will be the retail price, it appears that we will see the Moto 360 launch under US$300.
The Moto 360 is expected to share much of the Google I/O 2014 keynote spotlight with the LG G Watch which is expected to launch in early July for about US$200.
MobileFun has since pulled down pricing from its pre-order pages but it remains (at this point) on its blog.
