The move to touchscreen devices was the death knell for flip phones. Once a dominant form factor, they are now an oddity rather than the norm. Despite refusing to disappear without a fight, it is rare to see a smartphone using a clamshell design. Samsung has tried its hand at marrying the two and now LG is doing the same with the LG Wine Smart.
LG has geared the LG Wine Smart towards an older audience. For example, it comes with a feature called ‘Safe Keeper” that automatically sends a preset contact its location if it not used within a certain time frame. The display can display larger icons in a three by three grid, making them easier to see and hit. It also sports 1 watt speakers designed to be heard even when in loud places or by those hard of hearing.
