As expected, LG today unveiled the LG G Pro 2 at an event in Seoul, Korea. As expected, it builds on its predecessor, the LG Optimus G Pro, with a larger 5.9-inch Full HD display with a very slim 3.3 millimeter bezel. As rumours had suggested, it give it the LG G Pro 2 “industry-leading screen-to-frame ratio of 77.2 percent.” LG also touts new UX features that promise to “take user convenience to the next level.”
The LG G Pro 2 also comes with a 13MP camera with OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus). It is also capable of 4K ULTRA HD video recording, 120FPS HD video recording and slow-motion editing and a Burst Shot mode that can take up to 20 continuous shots and create a video using them.
LG also announced an enhanced version of KnockOn called Knock Code which adds a layer of security by letting users tap out a security pattern on the screen to unlock their phones. Rather than simple knocks, users can now unlock their phones using a pattern of between two and six knocks.
“Knock Code is an example of LG bringing simpler, more convenient solutions to consumers’ mobile lives,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Whereas in the early years of smartphones it was a contest to see how many features could be stuffed into the phones, our researchers took a long, hard look at how consumers were really using their devices in their daily lives and included just the most useful UX features. We think customers will agree.”
