LG has confirmed that it will unveil the LG G3 on May 27. With a series of events planned globally, it’s clear that LG is planning to offer its next flagship across the world. As a result, it’s likely that LG will offer a range of variants for different regions and carriers. We’ve known of a few for some time now but the connection between these model numbers and the LG G3 was based solely on leaks and rumours. LG UK has now confirmed that the LG-D85x devices are indeed the LG G3.
With LG’s teaser confirming the LG G3, LG UK has put up a web page to indicate that it is coming soon. Perhaps more importantly, it identifies it as the LG G3 D855, effectively confirming the model number. It also confirms that this particular variant is headed to Europe.
Other variants we have seen in the past include:
- LG-D850: AT&T
- LG-D851: T-Mobile USA
- LG-D857
- LG-D858
- LG-D859
- LG-VS985: Verizon Wireless
While there is a tab for specifications, there is no information there yet. The latest UAProf file for the LG-D855 confirms that it will come with a WQHD (2560×1440) display.
LG will formally unveil the LG G3 on May 27, perhaps along with the LG G Watch. It is expected to launch shortly after as LG looks to have its first WQHD smartphone out before its competitors.
