The LG G3 is certainly one very anticipated device. It has been the topic of a number of rumours already, including a number about its model numbers. Joining those today is a new model that is headed to Sprint Wireless. According to a new UAProf file found on Sprint’s own website, the LG G3 will launch there as the LG-LS990.
Unlike other files, this one reveals quite a bit of information about the device we expect to be LG’s next flagship smartphone:
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974A)
- Operating system: Google Android 4.4.2 KitKiat
- Cellular connectivity: LTE/EVDO
- Other connectivity: Wi-Fi, DLNA
- Display: WQHD (2560×1440)
- RAM: 3GB
- Internal storage: 32GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards up to 64GB
- Rear-facing camera: 13MP
- Front-facing camera: 2.1MP
- Connectors: 3.5mm audio jack
While not mentioned in the UAProf, past rumours have also suggested that the LG G3 would be dust and waterproof as a growing number of flagship smartphones now are.
To date, we’ve seen the following other models:
- LG-D850: AT&T
- LG-D851: T-Mobile USA
- LG-D855: Europe
- LG-VS985: Verizon Wireless
As we have often seen in the past, there is nothing in the UAProf file that ties the LG-LS990 specifically to the LG G3. But the specifications listed certainly suggest a flagship device, making the LG G3 the most likely option.
There is no word on a launch date yet but a summer launch appears likely. We recently saw a leaked document suggest that internal training will take place in mid-June, suggesting a launch could follow sometime soon after.
Thanks tipster!
