We first learned of LG’s plans to release a range of devices under the LG G3 brand back in July. Since then, we’ve seen LG release the LG G3 Beat, the LG G3 Stylus alongside the flagship LG G3. Another device now appears to be on the way. The next device to launch under the LG G3 brand will apparently be the LG G3 Screen, a device we’ve heard about in the past as the LG-F490L and its codename Liger.
As the name implies, the screen will be a key differentiator. At 5.9-inch, it will be as large as that of the Google Nexus 6 but will sport a lower Full HD resolution, presumably in order to hit a lower price point. It is clearly a device intended at the growing consumer appetite for devices with larger displays.
Here is what we know so far about the LG G3 Screen:
- Processor: Octa-core LG (4 1.5GHz cores and 4 1.2Ghz cores) LG Nuclun
- Operating system: Google Android 4.4.2 KitKat
- Display: 5.9-inch Full HD (1080×1920) IPS LCD
- RAM: 2GB
- Internal storage: 32GB
- Rear-facing camera: 13MP with OIS and laser AF
- Front-facing camera: 2.1MP
- Battery: 3,000mAh
- Dimensions: 157.8 × 81.8 × 9.45 millimeters
The LG G3 Screen is expected to first launch in South Korea with LG U+. It remains to be seen if LG will expand availability to other markets.
