LG G Watch and Android Wear profiled in 3 minute video

LG G Watch

If the images of Android Wear notifications were not enough for you today, a three minute video has surfaced showcasing the LG G Watch and Android Wear. Shot after the LG G3 unveiling in London, the video by Germany’s AppDated gives us a good look at the LG G Watch (identified as such by the LG-W100 model number that we spotted at the FCC earlier this week).

While we see the LG G Watch under all its angles, we only get a taste of what Android Wear is all about. Aside from showing us how we can check various types of messages, we get a glimpse at at an underwhelming watchface, an airplane mode toggle, and a battery indicator.

Unfortunately the narrative is in German and the translated YouTube transcript proves to be far from useful. This leaves us to wonder if any interesting details surfaced in the narrative.

The version of Android Wear being demonstrated is described as “beta beta” with only limited functions available, suggesting that Google still has quite a bit of work to do before it’s ready to run. The fact that there is a reminder to log a bug report certainly seems to confirm that as well.

With Google I/O 2014 less than a month away, we hope that we will learn a lot more about Android Wear and upcoming devices running the Android extension, including the LG G Watch and the Moto 360.
