Following the discovery of two very different Samsung Galaxy S5 variants on the AnTuTu benchmarks website, it’s the turn of the LG G Pro 2 to get benchmarked. Identified by the site as the LG Optimus G Pro 2, it’s clear that this is the the successor to the LG Optimus G Pro even if the name is not quite correct. LG earlier this month announced that it will be known as the LG G Pro 2 and that it would be unveiled this month.
As for specifications, AnTuTu reveals that the LG G Pro 2 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor, Android 4.4 KitKat, a Full HD (1080×1920) display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 13MP main camera (possibly with some form of advanced OIS) and a 2MP front camera. These results line up nicely with what other recent rumours have been suggesting.
It’s increasingly clear that this device will not come with a QHD display as some earlier rumours had suggested. That feature will likely be saved for the LG G3.
As you would expect, the benchmarks show noticeable performance improvement over the LG Optimus G Pro (LG-F240).
The LG G Pro 2 will come in at least three variants: The LG F350L and 350K are headed to Korea with the D837 to be the international model. The LG-F350L already surfaced on the official website of Korean carrier LG U+. We also expect that LG will offer a LG-F350S model also for Korea.
With an event planned for February 13 in Seoul, LG could unveil the LG G Pro 2 as early as February 13. If not, expect it to make an appearance at MWC 2014.
