Following its CES 2014 announcement that the LG G Flex was coming to the U.S., LG today announced that its first curved and flexible smartphone is also headed to more than 20 European countries including the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and Austria.

“The introduction of the LG G Flex in Europe demonstrates our confidence in the global marketplace for a curved smartphone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “As a premium smartphone, the G Flex will further establish LG as a brand that offers something unique for every consumer segment. This is a device that is guaranteed to start a conversation wherever it goes.”

The LG G Flex will make its European debut sometime next month. Pricing was not announced and will likely be revealed by individual carriers.

In the U.S., the LG G Flex is already available for pre-order from Sprint Wireless for a January 31 launch. AT&T will start taking its own pre-orders on January 24 with devices arriving in stores February 7. T-Mobile has not yet announced its plans.

Following today’s announcement, we reached out to LG Canada to find out if there were plans for Canada as well. We were told that there is “nothing to report on Canada yet.” Maybe I’m too much of an optimist but that last word does suggest that things could change in the near future. Rest assured that we will let you know as soon as we hear.
