While LG has confirmed that it is planning to launch a successor to last year’s LG G Flex smartphone by the end of the year, it has yet to make any official announcement. Despite that, an overeager Senior Research Engineer at LG appears to have revealed that the new flexible smartphone will be headed to Sprint when it does get announced.
The engineer in question lists the LG G Flex 2 as one of his smartphone development projects on his Linkedin profile. His work appears to have been limited to a single carrier variant but it’s unlikely that LG will launch its newest flexible smartphone with only one carrier across the globe. At the very least we can also expect to see it launch in its home country of South Korea.
Little is known about the LG G Flex 2 at this point. Earlier rumours did suggest that it would come with a display described as “better than Full HD” display but it’s unclear whether this means WQHD or somewhat less. The LG G Flex came with a 6-inch HD (720×1280) curved display.
It also remains to be seen if and when LG will unveil the LG G Flex 2.
