The evidence continues to mount that the LG-D850 will launch as LG’s next flagship smartphone. Based on information we received, it will be one of at least three variants of the upcoming LG G3 (the LG-D851 and LG-VS985 4G being the other two). We have now found the LG-D850’s UAProf file on LG’s own website and it does appear to confirm that it will be a flagship device.
What does the LD-850 UAProf file tell us? As with LG’s other such files, it does not give us a complete picture but it does confirm that this device will come with a WQHD (2560×1440) display. It also shows that it will support LTE, HSPA, EDGE and GPRS connectivity.
It’s unlikely that LG would use a WQHD display for anything but a flagship device at this point in time. With LG widely expected to launch its next flagship as the LG G3 (it even trademarked the name), it certainly makes sense that the LG-D850 (and variants) is none other than the LG G3 based on this alone.
Other rumoured specifications include an octa-core processor developed by LG, a 16MP camera (likely with OIS) capable of 4K video capture and 120fps slow motion and perhaps even a new multifunctional backside button.
LG could launch the LG G3 as early as May although it is more likely to do so slightly later according to more recent rumours.
