Another unannounced LG smartphone has been revealed by its own UAProf (user profile) file found on the LG website. This latest device is the LG-D838. If the model number rings a bell, it’s likely because it’s very close to that of another recently revealed model, the LG-D830 also outed in the same manner back in November.
The LG-D838’s UAProf reveals that it will come with a Full HD (1080×1920) display of unspecified size, LTE and HSPA connectivity and Google Android.
There is little else to go on at this point as this file is the first time we hear about the LG-D838. Simply based on the model number, we can expect it to be some kind of evolution from the LG G2 (LG-D802) and Google Nexus 5 (LG-D820/D821). From here, we are clearly in the land of pure speculation: Perhaps the LG-D830 and LG-D838 are variants of the same device? As to what device, could it be the oft-rumoured LG G3? With recent rumours suggesting that LG’s next flagship device will sport a WQHD (2560×1440) display when it launches in May, perhaps it will instead be a successor to last year’s LG G Pro?
Feel free to chime in below on your own take on the LG-D838.
