Following our report about new apps that the upcoming LG G3 would come with, Digital Trends has received screenshots of the new user interface that the LG G3 will sport. Provided by a “trusted industry source,” they show flatter icons, a refreshed notifications screen, and navigation that is closer to stock Android than we’ve seen from LG in the past.
Perhaps most interesting is that one of the shots appears to explain what the Concierge-Board app we wondered about will do. It appears to be a contextually aware app that will provide advice. For example, in the screenshot, the possibility of rain prompts it to suggest that you take an umbrella with you.
A rumour back in March suggested that the LG G3 would come with some kind of “advanced personalization” feature and it may well be this concierge service which may or may not launch under that name. The service would not only collect information from various sources but it would also learn how you use the phone to provide recommendations tailored to you. The report suggests that it would be similar to Google Now but would go beyond what Google’s version can offer.
The screenshots were sent in a 2,560 by 1,440 pixel resolution. This is further confirmation that the LG G3 will indeed come with a WQHD display, likely measuring 5.5 inches.
A comparison of the new interface with that of the LG G Pro 2 shows how much progress LG is making with the new interface.
LG is expected to unveil the LG G3 sometime in late June with a launch to follow in early July.
