LG unveiled the LG G3 at the end of May and it quickly went on sale after in its home country of South Korea. The company today announce that the global rollout will begin on June 27. Among the first stops in the LG G3 global launch will be Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines. The rest of Asia, Europe and the Middle East will follow in July. Specific availability dates will vary by country.
“Early indications give us reason to be optimistic that G3 will be as successful globally as it has been in Korea,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “It’s quite an honor to be considered the new industry benchmark for premium smartphones but in the end, what really matters is how consumers feel about our latest flagship device because it was their feedback that helped us create G3.”
Missing from today’s announcement are LG’s plans for North America. With three major U.S. carriers already having confirmed plans to carry the LG G3, LG is likely leaving announcements to the individual carriers. In Canada, no carriers have yet to announce they will carry LG’s latest flagship smartphone but we expect Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless and Videotron to be among them.
