While LG is headed down to Mobile World Congress next week, it is getting all of its product announcements done before the event itself. Following announcements for the LG G Pro 2 and its new mid-range LG L SeriesIII with the L90, L70 and L40 smartphones, the Korean company today unveiled the LG G2 mini, a smaller version of its current flagship, the LG G2. It has teased the device only a week ago.
Sadly, rumours that it would keep a number of key specifications unchanged have proven incorrect. LG has downgraded a number of specifications, likely to hit a lower price point. But like the LG G2, the LG G2 mini has kept the volume rocker and power button on the back of the device just below the camera.
“The G2 mini is all about bringing the best user experience of the G2 to a more compact, mid-tier device, giving millions of customers the opportunity to benefit from the LG premium experience,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “This device offers the perfect balance of modern design and practical UX in a compact package without compromising performance.”
