LG’s G Pad family of tablets grew a little larger today with the announcement of the LG G Pad 8.0 LTE. As the name implies, LG has added LTE connectivity to the LG Pad 8.0 tablet that it first announced back in May.
“With the G Pad 8.0 LTE, LG is setting a higher standard for connectivity in emerging 4G markets,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Today’s on-the-go consumers demand speed and convenience wherever they are, at any time. If a 4G LTE infrastructure is in place, we want LG products to be first to take advantage of the fast network.”

Like other LG G Pad tablets, the LG G Pad 8.0 LTE comes with LG’s suite of software that includes QPair 2.0, Smart Keyboard, Knock Code.
The LG G Pad 8.0 LTE begins shipping this week in key European countries. Markets in Central and South America, Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (which includes Russia) will follow in the next few weeks. Availability in North America was not announced. Should it launch here, we can expect carriers to make their own announcements. Pricing was not announced either.
