HTC recently announced the HTC Desire 510, its first smartphone with a 64-bit processor. The company today followed up with a second 64-bit smartphone announcement at IFA 2014. The HTC Desire 820 is the successor to the HTC Desire 816. Despite some confusing rumours over the past few days, it will indeed be powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor.

Along with the 8MP front-camera for those all-important selfies, the HTC Desire 820 also comes with software that lets you merge your features with those of another person, real time Live Makeup, which allows you to preview the image and set the desired level of skin smoothing before the image is captured and Photo Booth, where you can capture several moments in a single image.
Like other recent HTC models, HTC will offer a Dot View case for the HTC Desire 820.
HTC is launching the HTC Desire 820 in China in late September. A dual-SIM variant will also be available in other “select markets.” There is no word yet on availability in North America.
