The recently launched BlackBerry Passport is the first in what BlackBerry promises will be a series of “unconventional” devices. The company wants to offer smartphones that are both “disruptive” and packing a “wow factor.” The next such device is scheduled to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February 2015. While it is expected to feature a flipout keyboard, comedian Rick Mercer is proposing a different device, the BlackBerry Irregular Heptagon.
The BlackBerry Irregular Heptagon is part of “the next wave of geometrically themed smartphones.” It is billed as “the shape of things to come.” It promises features like “seven times the uneven angles” and “seven times the phone fun.” It is also quite handy. You can hang it on a shower rod or use it as a door stop.
Having introduced a three-row keyboard on the BlackBerry Passport, BlackBerry takes keyboard design to the next level with a dual-sided keyboard.

It’s not the first time that Rick Mercer has had fun with BlackBerry. In 2012, he unveiled the BlackBerry Outàge and last year featured the BlackBerry 10 “Reversal of Fortune” app.
