As we told you back in June, Public Mobile, now owned by TELUS, is migrating its subscribers from its CDMA network over to the TELUS HSPA one. As a result, it is also updating its device portfolio and two new devices are now available. Both the Huawei Ascend Y330 and Samsung Galaxy S III Mini are now available along with other devices such as the Moto G and the BlackBerry Q5.
The Huawei Ascend Y330 is an entry-level smartphone powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It comes with a 4-inch FWVGA (480×854) display, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for cards up to 32GB, a 3MP rear camera and a 1,500mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini was released almost two years ago. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core ST-Ericsson U8420 processor and has been upgraded to Android 4.4 (KitKat). It comes with a 4-inch WVGA (800×480) Super AMOLED, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards up to 32GB and a 1,500mAh battery. It also sports both a rear 5MP AF camera and a front VGA one.
Public Mobile is offering the Huawei Ascend Y330 for as low as CA$69 for existing customers and the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini for as low as CA$119 again for existing customers. The latter is only available in limited quantities.
