One upcoming device we have not covered to date here at EyeOnMobility is the upcoming successor to the Huawei Ascend P6. Expected to launch at an event next week in Paris, the Huawei Ascend P7 promises to follow in its predecessor’s footsteps as an ultra-thin device. The reliable @evleaks who has already offered up details about its specifications has now also tweeted press shots as well. As he himself says, “It basically looks like the P6.”
In terms of specifications, here is what we know so far about the Huawei Ascend P7:
- Processor: Quad-core (4×1.8GHz) Huawei Kirin 910T
- Operating system: Google Android 4.4.2 with Huawei Emotion UI
- Display: 5-inch Full HD (1080×1920)
- RAM: 2GB
- Internal storage: 16GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards
- Rear-facing camera: 13MP
- Front-facing camera: 8MP
- Battery: 2,500mAh
- Dimensions: Under 7 millimeters thick
Much like the Ascend P6, it appears to come with a glass back and a metal trim for the sides. Perhaps the most surprising detail is the alleged 8MP front camera. We’ve seen a number of devices adopt 5MP front-facing cameras to take better selfies but Huawei appears to have taken this to another level.
There is no word yet on availability and pricing of the Huawei Ascend P7. It could make its way to Canada courtesy of WIND Mobile which offered the Huawei Ascend P6 last year.
