Whereas the HTC One (M8) was the topic of rumours and leaks for weeks on end, HTC today unveiled a new accessory that it managed to keep secret until today. The HTC Gluuv is a new accessory that integrates with the new flagship smartphone to let you “unleash your imagination and communicate in ways you’ve always wanted.”
As the name implies, this accessory is a glove that extends up your forearm where the HTC One (M8) attaches. On the back of the hand is an 87.2MP camera that is activated by a “well-placed fist bump.” A new gesture control system called Social Fingerz lets you use gestures to trigger various actions. For example, you can like things on Facebook with a simple thumbs up. It also comes with a suite of apps that include HTC HI5, Nomous, and Protekt.
For the music lovers, HTC also introduced he HTC BoomBass. It works with the HTC Gluuv to “activate and unleash sound like never before.” While full specifications have yet to be announced, it is described as “durable, humongous, and completely wireless.”
The HTC Gluuv is still in beta and HTC has yet to announce availability and pricing details.
