Details continue to emerge about the HTC M8 Prime, an upcoming new device from HTC that could be its first to sport a WQHD display. The latest is a full 360 degree render of the smartphone courtesy of @evleaks.
Less rounded than the HTC One (M8), it appears to do away with the unibody aluminium construction. HTC will reportedly make use of an “exotic material” that is a metal-ceramic composite made up of aluminium and liquid silicone. The camera assembly sports an eye-catching (for better or worse?) orange lens ring and protrudes a bit.
Over the past few days, @evleaks has also revealed details about the HTC M8 Prime’s specifications. If accurate, we can expect it to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Cat 6 LTE connectivity, a 5.5-inch WQHD (2560×1440) display and 3GB of RAM. These details line up nice with those from a previous rumour that also added 16GB of internal storage and an upgraded HTC Duo Camera with a 5MP UltraPixel camera paired to an 18MP depth camera. The render does appear to confirm the presence of the Duo Camera. The volume rocker and power button also appear on the same side.
The HTC M8 Prime looks set to launch in the fall time frame.
