Much has been leaked about the next HTC flagship smartphone. Currently codenamed HTC M8, an older rumour has already revealed that HTC will follow it up with a smaller version, much as it did with the HTC One and HTC One mini (and then the larger HTC One Max). The specifications of the HTC M8 mini have now been leaked courtesy of @evleaks:
- Processor: 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
- Operating system: Google Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0
- Other connectivity: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
- Display: 4.5-inch HD (720×1280)
- RAM: 1GB
- Internal storage: 16GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards
- Rear-facing camera: 13MP
- Front-facing camera: 5MP
Much like its larger sibling, the HTC M8 mini will also sport on-screen buttons rather thardware ones.
The HTC M8 looks set to run a processor from the same Snapdragon 400 family as its predecessor, the HTC One mini, but will benefit from two extra cores. It will also sport a slightly larger display albeit with the same resolution.
While neither the HTC M8 or HTC M8 mini are official, let alone their specifications, it does appear that HTC will once again downgrade a number of specifications for the mini edition. But it also looks set to retain the microSD slot and 5MP front-facing camera.
No availability or pricing details were revealed but we can expect HTC to first unveil the HTC M8 and follow it up a few months later with the HTC M8 mini.
